Purple Hearts and Pink Roses with Brockmans Gin

Love is in the air with the “proper improper” Brockmans Gin.

Brockmans offers up two seductive cocktails that ring with romance in both taste and color.  Crafted with dark berries and noble traditions, Brockmans Gin mixes perfectly with beetroot juice in the Purple Spring cocktail and is a taste of true passion in its Frosé cocktail, both are just in time for Valentine’s Day.

Brockmans Purple Spring

  • 1 oz. Brockmans Gin
  • 3/4 oz. beetroot juice
  • 4 oz. wild berry cider

Preparation: Combine gin and beetroot juice in shaker with ice. Strain into a stemmed Copa glass filled with ice. Top with wild berry cider and give a gentle stir. Garnish with a very thin slice of dehydrated beetroot and edible flowers.

Brockmans  Frosé

Alternatively combine all ingredients in a blender with ice. Blend until the ice is crushed and scoop into a large, stemmed wine glass. Garnish with sugar or fresh rose petals.

About Brockmans Gin

Brockmans, the ‘Properly Improper’ gin is like no other. Crafted with ‘Dark Berries and Noble Traditions’, it is a revelation of unexpected individual taste for gin enthusiasts and novices alike. It stands proudly alone from other types of gin due to the unique recipe of exquisite botanicals and the patient steeping distillation process. Brockmans’ more traditional notes of gin are combined with a refreshing influence of citrus and aromatic wild blackberries and blueberries, creating an intensely smooth gin taste that is sensual and daringly different. The unrivalled taste of this beautifully crafted gin can be enjoyed simply neat over ice. It is refreshingly different when served with tonic or ginger ale and it opens a whole world of new taste experiences when mixed in gin cocktails. Brockmans is based in the United Kingdom and available throughout the US.

Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz Pour It On at this year’s Mohegan Sun Wine and Food Fest

By | Mixology News

The absence of the Mohegan Sun Wine and Food Festival in 2021 heightened anticipation for this year’s return, and its safe to say it was worth the wait.

It all started in the Earth Ballroom on Friday the 28th.  Guests “warmed” up their palates for the weekend at the Whiskeys of the World event! Various whiskeys from Japan, Ireland, Scotland, and Kentucky were paired with delicious eats from their respective geographic location. The international whiskey experience featured guest appearances from the likes of Kevin Des ChenesBrian DuffyLamar Moore and David Rose.

Up next was the first look at The Grand Tasting. The preview was ideal for scouting out personal favorites among the 1000+ varieties of wine, beer, and spirits available on the big day.

Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz stars of the hit reality series, Vanderpump Rules capped off day one with some more smooth whiskey sipping. At the stunning Novelle club, the duo hosted a mixology experience highlighting their new whiskey: Toms’ Good Lovin’. The interactive event at the main bar put smiles on everyone faces and shot glasses in their hands. Fans of the Bravo series were spoiled as their favorite actors from the show shared the story of their whiskey right before their eyes.

The following Saturday afternoon, The Grand Tasting reminded all just how special the festival really is. Not much compares to the feeling of being handed your tasting glass as you peer into the seemingly infinite rows of vendor booths. Aromas of gourmet food fill the enormous Earth expo center as does the echoes of laughter and quality conversations. It’s a learning experience as much as it is an imbibing one. Every brand representative was happy to go in-depth on the nature of their product and how it came to be.

Chef demos from the best of the best ran throughout the course of the day as well. A few of the elite who flexed their craft up close and personal included Aarón SánchezNyesha Arrington, and Todd English.

A few hours after the tasting concluded, the gates to a food lover’s paradise opened, A.K.A the Celeb Chef Dine Around. In the fancy Uncas Ballroom, guests were able to chow down on specialty dishes and casually chat with the masterminds behind them. Twenty chefs were in attendance working their magic while socializing and taking pictures with fans. It’s a rare phenomenon to witness.

The weekend wrapped up with a beautifully set up Game Day Brunch, hosted by Buddy Valastro, with special guest Victor Cruz. A delectable buffet comprised of everything conceivable along with specialty drinks was the prime setup to wind down and enjoy the NFL Conference Championships. Here’s to another weekend of lifelong memories at Mohegan!

The Chilled 100 Review: Spindrift Spiked Seltzers

By | Mixology News

The Chilled 100 Bartender Group is a collection of working bartenders serving spirits across some of the most popular bars in the nation.

We look to our Chilled 100 Bartender group as a professional resource and an insider glimpse to the bartender perspective on what’s trending in the spirits industry and in bars.

We recently invited a group of Chilled 100 bartenders, selected from random markets across the United States, to sample and review Spindrift Spiked Seltzer.

Our Chilled 100 Bartenders were asked to taste each Spindrift Spiked flavor (four in all) and record their opinions of the brand along with citing its best uses and offer insight into serving spiked seltzers in bars.

Our findings are consistent with what we anticipated about the spiked seltzer category today. Bartenders tend to rank a RTD brand with a high score if its ingredients and flavors are authentic and natural as opposed to artificial and full of sugar.

According to this study, most bartenders favor Spindrift Spiked Seltzer for its quality ingredients, like “real fruit.” The bartenders also cited low sugar and low ABV as positive points. Bartenders would serve Spindrift Spiked Seltzer straight from the can with the other half opting to serve Spindrift in a glass with ice.

When asked about the benefits of having Spindrift at their bars the bartenders in this study support Spindrift to offer their guests lower ABV options, great tasting flavors, low calorie options and alternatives to beer and liquor.

They also site convenience, low waste, and easy clean up as reasons to support suggesting and serving Spindrift at their bars. Most of the bartenders in this study agree that quality ingredients (real fruit), natural flavors, and low sugar/ABV make Spindrift Spiked unique and a product they’d likely recommend to their guests.

Their favorite flavor is Spindrift Pineapple with Spindrift Mango a close second choice.
