What’s Mardi Gras without the most classic New Orleans cocktail of them all—the Sazerac?
For this year’s celebrations, the bead-worthy Sazerac recipe
from Redwood Empire Emerald Giant does the trick. A fan favorite in the rye world, the award-winning Emerald Giant adds just the right spice to your Sazerac!
Redwood Empire’s Sazerac
Ingredients:
- 2 oz. Redwood Empire Emerald Giant Rye
- ½ oz. simple syrup
- 4 dashes bitters
- 2 dashes Peychaud’s Bitters
- Bar spoon Absinthe
Preparation: Put a bar spoon of absinthe in a chilled couple and set aside. Combine all other ingredients in a mixing glass and fill with ice and stir for 30-40 seconds. Dump absinthe out of glass and strain cocktail into glass. Garnish with a fresh lemon twist and Luxardo cherries.
