The Chilled 100 Spirits Awards Deadline has been extended to May 31st. Enter HERE

We asked Ariel Why Brands should enter The Chilled 100 Spirits Awards:

Why are Spirits Awards useful to bartenders?

Spirit Awards are useful to bartenders because that is a clear indication we matter.  We are often overlooked or not taken seriously. it also allows us to grow and learn and qualify for other amazing features and or resources.

What are the benefits to spirits brands to enter?

The benefits of entering as a brand is being acknowledged by a person who uses many other products, and they happily choose spirits that they can love, understand, or just are delicious.  Most often then not these are spirits they appreciate, and price is not something that is considered.

What should other bartenders know about the Chilled 100 Bartender Seal of Approval?

The bartenders should know that the Seal of Approval is an honor to speak about spirits we know and love. Most bartenders are not afraid to speak about taste, color, and flavor.  We use this opportunity to grow and develop over time. We get great and brands start to listen to our wants and needs.

What should spirit brands know about the Bartender Seal of Approval?

Brands should know the Bartender Seal of Approval allows improvements and real opportunity to have a great product. You can pay marketing to make numbers and letters that may help you out but in the long run if we don’t enjoy it, we don’t pour it.

Announcing Hooten Young & Jack Carr Warrior Proof American Whiskey

By | Mixology News

Hooten Young, a veteran-founded American Whiskey and cigar brand, is thrilled to launch its newest limited-edition product, Hooten Young & Jack Carr Warrior Proof American Whiskey.

Hooten Young was founded by Tim Young and Norm Hooten, Special Mission Unit Member (MSG RET) and real-life “Hoot” from Black Hawk Down (a Hollywood depiction of the Battle of Mogadishu). Created as a brotherhood bonded by the love of freedom, family, and honor—Hooten Young created its cigars and whiskey as a tribute to the brave men and women of the armed forces who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.

After being featured on episode 1 of The Terminal List’s book-turned-series Amazon Prime debut, Hooten Young knew this was the start of a brilliant partnership. And so, with the right-hand support of Jack Carr and MGP Distillery, we’ve co-created a whiskey bottled straight from the barrel.

At 125 proof, This special 16-year reserve can be enjoyed neat or with a few drops of distilled water. Staying true to its master mash bill, this American Whiskey is 99% corn and 1% barley. With its high corn percentage, the 125-proof is made smoother and sweeter, rounded out by notes of clove and baked apple.

This isn’t your party whiskey, but rather, an experience to be noted. Paired with a Hooten Young cigar, it’s the perfect way to slow down and honor the brave men and women of our nation’s armed forces.

Starting this spring, the new whiskey will be available in limited quantities at shop.officialjackcarr.com, shop.hootenyoung.com, and select Texas, California, and Florida liquor stores. It will be packaged in a keepsake bottle that features the distinctive branding of Hooten Young and Jack Carr, making it a must-have addition to any whiskey lover’s collection.

Chilled 100 Spirits Awards Judge, Chandler Tomayko Talks Bartender Seal of Approval

By | Mixology News

Dallas Bartender Chandler Tomayko has worked behind the bar for over twenty years. We are honored to host Chandler as one of Chilled 100 Spirits Awards Judges this year.

Chilled100 Spirits Awards

Chandler Tomayko is a chef and bartender that has 20+ years of experience behind bars all over the world. The origins of her hospitality journey are firmly rooted in precious family memories. “I guess it all began in my grandmother’s kitchen. Between the catchy Jackson 5 tunes and the sound of ice melting in a glass of Dr. Pepper and lime, her loving hands taught me to make pie.”

After graduating High School early, Chandler listened to a friend’s suggestion to try out Culinary School. The rest is history. “The second I slipped on the chef coat and walked into that kitchen, even though I spent weeks crying as I learned to chop onions in different ways, I knew. The smells, the sounds, the adrenaline rush. I knew I was born to cook.”

Most recently, she founded Heard Card Game, a great game for service industry individuals, and dedicates a lot of her time to hosting SI events around the country. Chandler is certified in Bourbon, Scotch and Canadian Whiskies. She has a highly trained palate and is proficient in tasting spirits.

The Chilled 100 Spirits Awards Deadline has been extended to May 31st. Enter HERE

We asked Chandler why brands should enter The Chilled 100 Spirits Awards:

Why are Spirits Awards useful to bartenders?

These spirit awards allow bartenders to get a feel for what offerings are available, the awards showcase brands that care about the professionals serving them and this allows bartenders an extra resource to consider when choosing how to build their menus and cocktails.

What are the benefits to spirits brands to enter?

Spirit brands can send a message to industry professionals by entering the awards. This message is that our opinions and knowledge matter and carries weight. Brands are also able to tap into a broad base of talented individuals to acquire real feedback about their products and the value it can bring to a bar program.

What should other bartenders know about the Chilled 100 Bartender Seal of Approval?

Other bartenders should know that brands that receive this seal of approval are products you can trust. Seeing that seal allows bartenders to expect quality in flavor and application possibilities.

What should spirit brands know about the Chilled 100 Bartender Seal of Approval?

Brands receiving the Bartender Seal of Approval should feel confident that their product meets the standards that we all look for in important categories such as taste, aroma, mouth feel and versatility. Brands should know that bartenders trust other bartenders. A code of honor that is unspoken, if a colleague recommends a product, I trust I will like it.
