We Ask Zing Zang’s Brent Albertson about Nassau Paradise Island Wine and Food Fest

As part of our “What We’re Hearing” about Nassau Paradise Island Wine & Food Festival at Atlantis (NPIWFF) content series, we are counting the days until the annual event in March 2025!

The five-day celebration of food, wine, spirits, and Bahamian-culture attracts all sorts of talent from celebrity chefs to connoisseurs. We ask Zing Zang CEO Brent Albertson about his experience at NPIWFF.

Talk to us a bit about Zing Zang.

What inspired your involvement with NPIWFF.

We just launched Zing Zang at Atlantis and are looking forward to expanding into the Caribbean and Puerto Rico. NPIWFF was a great event to kick off our Bahamian launch with our partners.

Tell us about your experience this year.

We got a chance to pair our premium mix with many premium and super premium Tequilas, Rums and Vodkas that also attended the event. The food and the Atlantis venue was amazing. Our brand thrives where people are happy and celebrating life!

What were some of the highlights?

By far, the highlight for me was meeting the terrific people. The Atlantis staff, the WB/SGWS (distributor) people and were absolute pros. The skill to put on such an event with many facilities and logistics all the way down to the precise drink recipes and food preparation. The location is second to none, but that paired with these amazing people, made it one of the best I have attended.

What are you looking forward to next year?

More Zing Zang All-Natural Margaritas and ZZ Bloody Marys!!!

What are some of your biggest takeaways from the event?

Zing Zang is a brand that helps people celebrate and enjoy life. Atlantis and the NPIWFF also fit that purpose. Perfect event for a great Brand experience for everyone.

Book extra time! The festival is great, and the Island has so much to offer.

Wondering how to make the perfect Negroni? Now is the time to discover how to prepare the best Negroni for the holidays. It’s one of the best classics you can serve.

The folks at Cipriani Drinks offer some of their best tips for making the perfect Negroni. First, when possible, use a short Tumbler glass, the go-to choose of mixologists. If you prefer your drinks on the rocks, fill the glass ¾ way full of ice. To be able to mix every ingredient to perfection, use a jigger and build in order: first the gin, then the vermouth and lastly, the bitter liqueur. Gently stir the ingredients. ideally with a stirrer, for optimal results. Add a slice of fresh cut orange to the glass. Serve.

  • 1 oz. gin
  • 1 oz. Red Vermouth
  • 1 oz. bitter Liqueur
  • Fresh sliced orange

Preparation

  1. Build ingredients in a rocks glass.

And just like that, we are getting ready to close out on another year. December is always jam-packed with chaos between last-minute shopping, holiday parties, and NYE celebrations. The holiday spirit invites us to slow down and celebrate with festive cocktails. Elevate your bar menu by adding seasonal twists to classics, or shake up something different and add a signature cocktail that highlights seasonal flavors. It will create a warm and cozy environment that encourages those to sip, savor, and try something new to expand their palette.

Here are five cocktails you should be drinking during December.

Caramel Cookie Cocoa

It makes sense that National Cookie Day is celebrated during this month. December 4 is the perfect excuse to indulge and mix two of our favorite treats: a cookie and a warming cocktail. This Caramel Cookie Cocoa makes cozying up on a cold and snowy day extra special. With the added salted caramel garnish, it’s the best of both sweet and salty, making every sip better than the next.


Screwdriver in Paradise

A classic cocktail is timeless for a reason. There is no better time to enjoy this tangy delight than on National Screwdriver Day (12/14). It’s the perfect drink for those who want to escape the colder weather and head somewhere tropical. Even if you live where the temperature doesn’t drop this time of year, December has a funny way of making things feel icy no matter where you are. If you want to add your seasonal twist, do equal parts of orange and cranberry juice and garnish with some pomegranate seeds.


The Ballad of Earl Grey and Chamomile

Using tea in cocktail-making is often overlooked since it’s traditionally enjoyed solo. December 15 marks International Tea Day, making it the perfect opportunity to explore the world of tea cocktail infusions and learn new ways to use this innovative ingredient. This warming cocktail has all of the familiar winter notes and flavors that are loved—cinnamon, apples, and honey. It may even have some medicinal benefits for those battling a cold.


Holiday White Sangria

The chill in the air won’t stop us from making this big-batch cocktail. On National Sangria Day (12/20), mix up this simple yet refreshing white wine sangria that is ideal for any upcoming holiday gatherings. It highlights all the seasonal suspects to make a vibrant and sweet cocktail. Peanut Butter and Banana Nog

While eggnog might not be for everyone, those who love it will be blown away by this boozy twist. On December 24, celebrate National Eggnog Day with this creamy and nutty cocktail. It starts with a homemade eggnog, which adds an extra special touch and personalization to the drink. This rich holiday classic has notes of peanut butter and banana, making it optimal for any holiday brunch. After experiencing this cocktail, you won’t want to go back to a boring old glass of eggnog.

Warm Up This Season with the Cherry Bounce Hot Toddy

Crafted by Coltivare’s Beverage Director Morgan Weber, the Cherry Bounce Hot Toddy is a sweet and spicy warm beverage inspired by combining a traditional hot toddy and cherry bounce, a cherry-infused bourbon liqueur popular in North Carolina where Executive Chef/Co-Owner Ryan Pera grew up.

The cherry bounce liqueur, which is made up of fresh cherries, white sugar, and bourbon, will infuse from now until about December and will then be ready to be used in the cocktail. The cocktail combines the liqueur with lemon juice, hot water, and a house made cinnamon syrup, creating a gorgeous and complex taste profile of sweet, citrusy, and spicy flavors. To top it all off, the cocktail is garnished with cinnamon, rosemary, and a cherry and orange peel skewer.

Cherry Bounce Hot Toddy

by Coltivare — Houston, TX

Ingredients

  • 1 and ½ oz. Cherry Bounce Liqueur*
  • 2 oz. Hot Water
  • ¼ oz. Lemon Juice
  • ¼ oz. Cinnamon Syrup**

Preparation

  1. Combine all ingredients in Irish coffee glass.
  2. Garnish with cinnamon, rosemary, and cherry and orange peel skewer.

*Cherry Bounce Liqueur


Ingredients

  • 2 cups White Sugar
  • 4 cups Four Roses Bourbon
  • 1 cup Fresh Cherries
  • 1 pinch Cinnamon
  • 1 pinch Nutmeg
  • 2 Cloves, whole
  • 1 Star Anise, whole

Preparation

  1. Combine ingredients in airtight container.
  2. Set in a cool dry place for 4 to 6 months.
  3. Strain out solids.

**Cinnamon Syrup Recipe


Ingredients

  • 32 oz. White Sugar
  • 16 oz. Water
  • 22 ½ grams Cinnamon
  • ¼ oz. Angostura Bitters

Preparation

  1. Heat water.
  2. Add cinnamon and steep for 2 minutes.
  3. Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
  4. Cool and set for 10 minutes.
  5. Strain and add angostura bitters.

An Evening of Elegance: Casa Azul Organic Tequila Dinner at Alma

Hosted by the Casa Azul team and the National Director of the Chilled 100, Wendy Hodges, the event gathered members of the Los Angeles Chilled 100 chapter for an unforgettable experience.
