Whether lighting up an indie or starring in a sure-to-be-a-hit TV series, Briana Lane is one of the most electric talents to storm into Hollywood.
One of Lane’s most recent appearances includes a role on the FOX hit series 9-1-1. Lane will also appear this fall in the film One Nation Under God opposite Casper Van Dien and Kevin Sorbo. She has also been working on new music with fellow actress and band member Kate Miner (Necessary Roughness). Together the two record music and perform in the band Winslow (@thebandwinslow), when they’re not on set.
The Los Angeles native seemed destined for a career in entertainment. After catching the acting bug in high school, she made her way into the business as a writer for CBS shortly after graduating from UCLA and from there began hosting programming for CBS Sports, E! News and MSN’s Wonderwall channel. Realizing acting was her true passion, she quickly landed jobs in TV & film and has worked steadily ever since. She spends her free time hiking Runyon Canyon with her adorable adopted Pomeranian, Foxy.

Tell us a bit about the projects you are working on.
I just booked a recurring role in a CW pilot that I’m really excited about opposite Taye Diggs. I also have episodes of CBS’s NCIS and Hulu’s All Night coming out, and the movie called One Nation Under God premiering this fall, and my band, Winslow, is about to release an album.
With your busy schedule, what do you like to do with your downtime?
I love to check out local bands play, perform with my improv group and go on hikes with my dog, Foxy.
When you go out to eat, where do you like to dine?
I love a restaurant with a creative take on food or ambiance. One of my favorite restaurants in Silverlake, “Mh Zh”, has tables on the sidewalks, a menu written on paper bags and Mediterranean food that puts any other place to shame. My other favorite spot is “Elf” in Echo Park. It’s tiny inside and the menu is plant-based and organic, so you don’t feel guilty post-meal.
What types of dishes do you usually order?
It really depends on my mood but I’ll always opt for a chicken dish or a fish dish most often. However, if I’m feeling up for it, I’ll just ask the server to surprise me.

Do you cook?
Yeah. On a regular basis, I make meals for myself but nothing too extravagant. My schedule doesn’t really allow for a lot of cooking time, so I’ll occasionally make something crazy on a random Sunday if I’m feeling like it!
What types of drinks do you order when out?
I’ll order either a full bodied red or a tequila drink. My new favorite tequila drink is a mix of agave, mezcal, bourbon and burnt orange. It doesn’t give you a hangover and it tastes delicious!
Do you prepare drinks at home?
I don’t! If I drink at home, I usually just have wine or beer.
Do you own a home bar?
I do actually. I got a vintage bar cart from a flea market years ago that looks like it’s from 1910. It’s my favorite piece of furniture that I own. That being said, I rarely use it. I have a bunch of alcohol in it for when company comes over.
What is it stocked with?
All the alcohol on the cart is packed in a vintage Pepsi wooden soda crate so I have to be picky with what I fit in there since space is limited. Right now I have vodka, tequila, whiskey, and some fancy pants McCallan. On the bottom part of the cart, I store all my wine and glassware.
What is your favorite drink/cocktail?
Classic margarita or a really good Malbec.
